We recognize there are many questions about COVID-19 and many of those questions don’t have clear answers even at this time of late May. We have included some links to COVID-19 information from the Centers for Disease Control, cdc.gov, and to information about local testing sites.
Testing for an active viral infection requires an order from a medical provider. At TFM we are offering virtual visits / Telemedicine to assess your condition and make arrangements for COVID-19 testing if appropriate.
Many have already asked about testing for antibodies to COVID-19 to determine whether one has had the infection and whether they might be immune to the virus. As of today, May 21, 2020, we are recommending our patients wait before testing for antibodies primarily because we need better tests to have more accurate and specific results to counsel you moving forward. Perhaps in another 30-60 days we will have better antibody tests available.
We are seeing patients in clinic at TFM but only “well” patients. We are triaging and treating “sick” patients via virtual visits if their symptoms might possibly suggest a COVID-19 infection. We are requiring our staff and patients where masks while in close contact with each other. We are also screening patients for fever at the front door and blocking entrance if a fever exists.
Between patient visits, we are doing an even deeper clean of rooms, furniture, and equipment than we have always done.
We want you to feel safe coming into clinic when you have a need or for “wellness” visits like annual physical exams and blood work. Please let us know how we can better serve you during these unusual times.
We now offer an alternative to traditional primary care practice models. TAHP is a hybrid of care offerings suited to the needs of the individual or family.
We are a limited resource for what seems like unlimited needs in our community, but with our new model we offer services you have often requested but we could not previously provide.
